We began building the Terrantai Lodge one day in the year 1996. It arose from desires and dreams to share the experience of inhabiting the legendary remote and dreamlike desert with the exploring traveler. So we built Terrantai in adobe, lake rocks, and wood aged by time which evoke ancestral memories, the legacy of the warm and welcoming Mother Earth.
Its interior spaces, rooms, walls and hallways were designed with the inspiration of the original Atacama Desert peoples and their ways of living.

Terrantai also wishes that your stay in San Pedro de Atacama be an experience of well-being, a time to be with yourself. It is an invitation to an encounter with silence.
